General information

Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Berlin Hbf) is Berlin Central Station. It was inaugurated in 2006 and it's Germany's and Europe's largest station. Many national, international, and regional trains come together here as well as the Berlin S-bahn. This means 1,800 trains and 350,000 passengers per day.

Transportation

You can continue your journey by public transport using many buses, the subway or the high-speed S-bahn (S5, S7, and S75). You can rent bicycles at the station, on the Friedrich-List-Ufer, near the taxi stand on the Europaplatz. If you prefer to rent a car you'll find many car rental companies at Berlin Hauptbahnhof. This allows you to take your time exploring the city and the region. Sixt, Europcar, and Hertz are located at level 1 of the station. There are many parking facilities near the station.

Services

At the northern and southern entrance of the station you'll find an information stand of the Deutsche Bahn where you can go for information about Berlin, lost objects, assistance for the disabled, taxi vouchers and information about arrivals and departures. On the south side of the second floor you'll find a fully-equipped lounge for first-class passengers. The station has free Wi-Fi.

If you have to wait at this modern and impressive station, you'll definitely not be disappointed and you won't be bored for a second. Berlin Hauptbahnhof offers a large range of places to eat. No matter if you're looking for a café or fast food, ice cream, currywurst or sushi, you'll find a wide range of national and international specialties.

Shops

There's no shortage of shops. There's something to suit all tastes ranging from books and media to ties and shoes and everything related to beauty care. At the station you'll also find a Hertha BSC store, the German capital's soccer team. Shops are open daily from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
