Cairo Airport in a nutshell

In recent years Cairo Airport has undergone a major renovation. The terminals are extremely modern and a so-called people mover, a small automatic train, runs between the terminals.

The airport is situated 22 kilometers northeast of the city center of Cairo, Egypt's capital. There's no train connection with the airport yet, but a subway line is being constructed connecting the airport with Mohandesin station in 2012. Because a toll road was constructed between the airport and the Egyptian capital the airport is easily reachable by car and bus.

The airport has a modern and reasonably extensive shopping area and some restaurants grouped around Food Plaza. There are five VIP lounges and a business center offering basic business services. For business meetings you can book a conference or meeting room in one of the two airport hotels (Novotel and Le Meridien). Wireless internet is available and other facilities at Cairo Airport include banks, exchange offices, ATMs, children's playgrounds, and a post office.
