Punta Cana Airport is the main gateway for tourists to the Dominican Republic. Nearby you'll find magnificent beaches and numerous holiday resorts.

The airport is centrally located between the beaches and the holiday resorts, directly north of Punta Cana and 40 kilometers east of Higüey. There's no train connection with the airport and buses run irregularly. The airport is easily reachable by car: the main road along the beaches connects with the Carretera Aeroporto to the airport.

The airport has very few shops and restaurants but directly opposite the terminal you'll find a large shopping center, more a market, including eating and drinking facilities. There are no business facilities at the airport. The large hotels and resorts in the neighborhood offer rooms, but these are mainly used for parties and celebrations. The airport offers wireless internet (Wi-Fi) and public computers with internet connection.
