Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont Airport is the second and smaller airport of Rio de Janeiro (after Galeão Airport). Major investments are made to improve and extend the airport in preparation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The airport is situated only 2 kilometers from Rio de Janeiro's center, directly on the Baia de Guanabara. There are good bus connections between the airport and the city's central bus station, but also to the beaches of Copacabana. There's no train connection. The airport is easily reachable by car, but avoid rush hour!

The airport (still) has a limited number of restaurants, cafés, (snack) bars, and shops, but this will improve when the modernization is completed. The airport has no business facilities. For meeting and conference rooms you need to turn to one of the nearby hotels or the business hotels in the city center. There are some internet cafés and wireless internet (Wi-Fi) is available.
