What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Asunción Airport in a nutshell

Asunción Airport is officially called Asunción Silvio Pettirossi International Airport and is named after an aviation pioneer who founded the first flying-club of Paraguay.

The airport is situated 9 kilometers north of Asunción's city center, in the suburb Luque. There's no train connection with the airport and only one city bus connection. Many hotels however do run shuttle buses from the airport. The distance between the airport and the city center is quickly covered via the Autopista al Aeropuerto.

Besides the usual duty-free shops, the airport doesn't have an overwhelming number of shops. The number of eating and drinking facilities is also limited: two restaurants (one before and one after customs) and some cafés. There's a VIP lounge where you can rent a small meeting room for business meetings, but otherwise Asunción Airport doesn't offer any business services. Internet access is available through computers, but also wireless. Other facilities at Asunción Airport include banks, exchange offices, and ATMs.
