General information
Paris Gare de l’Est is one of the oldest and largest train stations in Paris. The first Orient Express departed from this station in the direction of Istanbul. It's situated in the 10th district, near Gare du Nord on the Rue du 8 mai 1945. From Gare de l'Est, TGVs leave for the east and northeast of France and Luxembourg, Germany and Central Europe.
Are you on your way back to the Netherlands or do you need to change at Gare du Nord? In this case, take subway line 4 in the direction of Porte de Clignancourt or line 5 in the direction of Bobigny - Pablo Picasso.
Transportation
Do you want to explore Paris? You'll find the taxi stand in front of the station. There are several taxi companies. Paris' city buses stop directly opposite the station on the Boulevard de Strasbourg. The Gare de l'Est subway station is located directly underneath the station. Go down the escalators in the central concourse to reach the station.

Train tickets can be bought in the central concourse at the St. Martin and Alsace entrances. Near the Alsace entrance there's also an information desk for tourists.
