The car was a Nissan
The car was a Nissan Micra which is far from an ideal car for hire: it has very poor view to the rear (both the very small high positioned windscreen and mirrors are a problem, further agravated by the very dark glass) which may be OK if you drive a car regulary, but not for a one off ride. Today a hire car should have rear sensors or a camera or at least good (old fashioned) rear view. The touch screen did always ask for the specific Nissan CD. The automatic emergency brake assist (I suppose this is what caused the problem) was not properly adjusted: the car made a couple of times a fully unexpected emergency stop (brakes blocked at a light touch of the pedal) which once nearly caused an accident from a car behind me.
